Coffee Talk Monday :: Goals, Yoga and 3 1/2 year olds

Aug 3, 2015

Happy Monday, my friends. So, I have a new life goal. Well, it’s actually been on my bucket list for quite some time but has recently come on my radar again. I want to learn sign language! Since it’s so flippin’ hot here, I’ve been spending my down time catching up on Netflix shows and have gotten hooked on Switched at Birth. That show has brought me so much awareness about the deaf culture and I am SO intrigued. I asked Joe if he would learn with me, but I have yet to convince him. It’s a work in progress.

Can I just say that 3 1/2 is rocking my world?! Bella is incredibly sweet and adorable, but she is also fiercely independent, wilding opinionated and sometimes just downright stubborn. Every night, after I put her to bed, Joe and I flop down on the couch in exhaustion (and sometimes defeat lol). I know that this is a necessary phase where she is learning about being more independent and speaking her mind, but golly, this mama is tired! But, in just a couple weeks, my little baby will be starting preschool which I think she will just LOVE. And I’m sure when that day comes, I’ll be missing her feisty, spunky self like crazy!

Tomorrow is my last week of my 8-week BTOT Holy Yoga series before taking a few weeks off. Oh, how my body, mind and soul have been blessed from leading such amazing people! Each week, we have had around 20-25 students which is way more than I ever thought we would when I initially set out to do it. I remember telling Joe that I would be excited if 5 people showed up! I’m going to miss teaching during those weeks off, but I am really trying to embrace the beauty of rest as well. And we’ll be back at it before you know it!

As always, happy Monday!

I love that show Switched at Birth. My mother was inspired to be a translator after watching that show. She is now enrolled in school taking sign language classes.
