Arizona Wedding-Boudoir-High School Senior-Photographer » I'm Stacy Kokes, and I photograph love...

For some people, work is just a place you go in order to pay the bills. In fact, Alicia’s intentions went no further than that when she first started working at Loco Patron, an amazing mexican restaurant located in Old town Scottsdale, Tempe and Ahwatukee. Little did she know that her place of employment would also be where her love story would begin.

Side note: Loco has a sweet place in my heart as it is where I worked for 2 years during college :). I was so incredibly stoked when they opened up their new location on Mill ave in Tempe, only a couple miles from our house. If you haven’t been in there yet, you MUST check it out! But I digress…

Jeremy started out as Alicia’s boss but after much convincing ;), Alicia finally agreed to let Jeremy take her out on a date. Now they are just months away from becoming husband and wife! I am beyond thrilled for the two of them and feel honored to be the one to capture their big day.

I apologize ahead of time for the lengthy blog post but I just kept adding photos. I mean…can you blame me?! This is one dreamy couple!

Flawless. Simply flawless…

Dreamy light and sweet whispers of love…

I see some beautiful babies in their future…just sayin’ :)

I think I’m getting a toothache from all this sweetness!

People shouldn’t be allowed to look this good this close up ;)

Had to give her ring some love. Dang!

Caught the last little bit of sunset!

When I was 8 years old, I met my best friend for life, Stephanie. From the moment we met, there was not a person in the world that I could have more fun with. We spent countless hours playing pretend, being creative, talking about boys and laughing until our stomachs hurt.

Today my best friend turns 28 which means we have now been friends for TWENTY YEARS! There is something so special about childhood friendships that stand that test of time. We have been through so much together; awkward phases, innocents crushes, broken hearts, moves across and out of the country, ex boyfriends, finding the loves of our lives, getting married and starting families. Steph just moved back to the states after living in Mexico for the past 6 years. Despite our physical distance, we have remained ‘besties’ and I know that will never change.

Even though I didn’t know much when I was 8 years old, I sure knew how to pick a great BFF. Happy Birthday Bestie! I love you SO much! xoxoxo

There is no more rewarding time in my job than when I get to have my dear friends in front of my camera. This week I had that opportunity once again when my sweet friend Brooke asked if I would photograph her college graduation photos. It was an honor and a pleasure for sure! We had way too much fun!!!

Brooke is one of the most genuine, god-honoring, joyful women I have ever met. She came into my life recently, yet we have quickly established a deep friendship centered around our sweet Jesus. Brooke calls me her ‘big sister’ and I love having her as a little sis. There is much to admire about this sweet woman; the fact that she set a goal of graduating in 3 years and she IS, her vibrant and evident love for Christ, her wisdom beyond her years and her contagious laughter!

She is amazing. She is my friend. She is my sista’. She is Brooke. Isn’t she lovely?!

True beauty starts in the heart and radiates from within…

‘She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.’ Proverbs 31:25

Don’t you just adore her?!

And of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without some ‘behind the scenes’ from our WAY too fun session! Enjoy!

Love you Brookers! xoxo

Shara + John worked together for 2 years before their friendship blossomed into a beautiful romance. Now they are just a couple months away from becoming husband and wife! These two beauties live in Canada, but decided to step out of the cold and into the desert for their big day (can you blame them?!). Throughout their dating relationship, they have fallen in love with Arizona and everything it offers; the golf, great food, wine bars and of course the sunshine! I had the pleasure of meeting them and shooting their engagement session this week while they visited and ironed out their wedding plans. We drove to the desert and gave them the Arizona backdrop they so desired. It was such a blast!

In Canada, the sport of choice is hockey. They LOVE it! Shara + John are both huge fans….of rival teams! It’s not often you’ll see a Flames fan and a Oilers fan being cordial to one another. It’s even more rare to see them kissing! So they wanted to incorporate their love for hockey into their engagement sesh and show that their love transcends even the biggest rivalries ;)! John also incorporated his love for photography with one of his vintage camera’s that his grandfather gave to him. Shara+John’s session was so perfectly ‘them’ and I was honored that I got to be the one to shoot it. Looking forward to their wedding on 05/11/2013!

xo, Stacy Kokes

Thank you Jesus for these gorgeous yellow flowers in the middle of the desert!

Could they be any cuter? I’m not sure it’s possible!

Workin’ it!

When I first sat down with Lynnsey + Brandon, I knew that they were special and unique. They were genuine, sweet, laid back and fun and I knew I wanted to be their wedding photographer! I finally got them in front of my camera for the first time this past weekend and it was SO much fun. Their laid back, go-with-the-flow personalities allowed me to just ‘do my thang’! I love when my clients give me their full trust and just let me play around with the light and their love to create images they will love and cherish. Lynnsey+Brandon did just that and I hope that they love the result as much as I do! Can’t wait for their April wedding just around the corner :) xoxo Stacy
