Arizona Wedding-Boudoir-High School Senior-Photographer » I'm Stacy Kokes, and I photograph love...

Anyone who knows me knows that I love watching The Bachelor/Bachelorette. My Mondays are never quite the same without them ;). Hands down, one of my favorite Bachelorette’s was Desiree Hartsock. While she is most well-known for her time on the show, she is also a very talented bridal gown designer. Combine my love for the Bachelorette and weddings and I am sold haha! Not to mention, she is teaming up with Maggie Sottero (who was the designer of my wedding gown) to create a beautiful a custom gown for her and Chris’s wedding day, as well as a new line of gowns. I can’t wait to see they come up with. I know they are going to be AMAZING!

Today, I am SO honored that Desiree has chosen to feature one of my recent styled shoots on her blog. It feels great to be recognized by someone that I respect in both the wedding industry and outside of it. Please go check it out and leave some love!

Oh my sweet Bella. How I loved you from the moment I saw your precious face! You mean more to me than my words can utter. I never knew someone so small could teach me so much about life, faith and the love of God. You have grown me and changed me in countless ways and I still am in awe that God chose me to be your mommy. You are more than a gift, you are a blessing in it’s truest form. I love you SO much!

One year ago today, I received an email that changed our lives forever. Below is the first picture I ever saw of Bella and somehow I knew in that instant that I was looking at the face of my daughter. It was as if my heart and hers were already intertwined and the child I had been longing for all these years was staring back at me. And so began our journey towards adopting Bella! I can’t believe that just over a year ago, we didn’t know of each other. It seems as if she has always been a part of us and us a part of her. I can’t even imagine a life without her. She has brought unspeakable joy into our world and is a constant reminder of God’s intimate love for me. God heard my prayers to be a mother all those years and made it so by bringing this precious girl into my life. When I think of all that God had to orchestate to bring the three of us together, I still get chills. When I look at her face and hear her call me “Mommy”, I am continually reminded that we serve a big, mighty, GOOD God!

I will forever celebrate the day that I first learned of you and saw your beautiful face, for my life and my heart will never be the same. Love, Mommy

I am THRILLED to share this session with all of you! It started off as a small idea that grew into a beautiful collaboration between friends and local vendors. There is something so fulfilling and exhilarating about working with other creatives to create something more beautiful than we could ever do on our own. Together, we were able to tell the story of love, beauty, and adventure in the Arizona desert. Check out the photos and video below!

Special thanks to all that made this shoot what it is:

Models: Chris + Lauren

Fashion Styling: Alex of AVE Styles

Flowers: Sarah’s Garden

Makeup: Ashley Nicole

Before I had kids I swore that I would have my camera on them constantly. I envisioned dressing up my little girl and taking her on spontaneous photo shoots all the time. But instead of photo shoot fantasies I found my reality to look more like still wearing yoga pants at 5pm while trying not to burn dinner and entertain my hungry toddler at the same time. Elaborate photo shoots were not in my foreseeable future! However, I decided to take Bella on a mini-photo session a few weeks ago so I could send Bella’s birth mother some updated photos for Mother’s Day. Thinking of how happy they would make her motivated me. The result was pure happiness to my soul!

Isn’t my girl just the cutest??!

Eeeeekkkkk! I am SO excited to share this happy news with you. Over the past year or so, my life and therefore, my business, has been in a time of transition. When we adopted our daughter almost a year ago, our lives went into parent mode. Not only were we becoming parents for the first time, but we were parents to a toddler right front the start. The past year has been my time to figure out what it looks like to be both a full time mommy and a business owner. I can’t say that I have it ALL figured out, but I’m definitely in a really great place right now. Our family has gotten into great rhythm and I have been getting to spend a lot more time on my business again. It feels SO great to dream, create and photograph love again and I am excited to get back into full swing!

As I have grown and changed over the past year, so has my business. I have learned more about who I am, what I’m passionate about and the direction I want my business to go in the future. I am coming back into full swing with photography, feeling refreshed and inspired. In honor of this new, fresh outlook, comes a refresh for my brand! I am SO excited to share it with all of you. So without further ado, here is my newly refreshed look:

logo - tagline - 72dpi - transparent

I love the simple, femininity and maturity it portrays. Emily of Rose and Julep paper did a fantastic job creating it! Along with my brand refresh comes my updated website. Hope you can celebrate with me as I embrace this time of flourishing as both a mommy and photographer. Praise to Jesus for both gifts <3!
