When I first started doing photography back in 2008, I did a LOT of family sessions. As I transitioned to weddings, my family session workload naturally tapered down. Now that I have a family of my own, I appreciate the importance and beauty of family sessions more than ever before and I LOVE when I get a chance to shoot them.
The Baugues family session was such a treat because it was really like three family sessions in one; Allison and Jon and their son Evan (who we know from church), Jon’s parents and Jon’s brother’s family who was visiting from the midwest. We all braved the AZ August heat and got some fun images.
With a 9 month old and an 18 month old to chase around, my first trimester body had it’s work cut out! These ages are so fun to capture because you just get such raw, real personalities. They are too young to really follow directions, so I have the pleasure of capturing them just as they are.
Baugues family, thanks for letting me capture this special time in each of your lives. May you look back on these with love and joy for years to come!
Evan is the perfect example of “capture them as they are”. This little guy loved his red wagon and wanted it to be part of every picture. So, rather than fight it, I went with it and got this sweet, smiling face!
When in doubt…cheerios!
I’ll end with this one. No, it’s not “perfect”. The babies are wriggling. They were getting hot and antsy. But there is realness here and to me, that is what photography is all about!
leave some LOVE!
