Is it really Monday already??! Geez, these last couple weeks have been flying by for me. January is already more than half over…craziness I tell ya! Anyways, I’m glad that it’s Monday because we get to have another date. Woo hoo :).
Breakfast update: Good news is, I broke the habit of making oatmeal everyday only to eat half of it (if that). Bad news is, I’ve replaced it with the hashbrowns that I randomly craved last week and found out I really like them. But don’t worry, I add eggs in the mix for protein sake. Plus, they go so well with the syrup that ends up on my plate ;).
I went to my first ever estate sale on Wednesday. Now if you know me at all, you know that I LOVE thrifting. It’s like pretty much the best thing ever. So listen. to. this. Not only was it an estate sale (+5 bonus points for that) but it was an estate sale of an antique dealer who was closing up shop (+100000000 bonus points) who had everything “priced to sell” (+too many bonus points to count). I headed out bright and early feeling very determined and slightly giddy. I walked into the home which was already swarming with people (veteran estate-sale shoppers no doubt) and suddenly I was feeling a little less confident. Right away my eyes were drawn to these gorgeous vintage dressers. Remember, we’re about to start remodeling our bedroom so I was EXCITED…until I looked at the price tag. $899 each. What…what?? Apparently my idea of priced to sell and their idea of priced to sell is very different. All I wanted in that moment was to be teleported to my usual safe, affordable thrift stores. The stuff there is way cooler anyway ;).
It’s been in the 70s here this last week. Growing up in the midwest, we would bust out the shorts and t-shirts anytime if got above 55/60. But here, I’m still wearing jeans, Uggs and sweaters when it’s in the 70s. I know, I know, it’s quite silly but 70 doesn’t feel that warm anymore. What’s happened to me?? Only in Arizona!
My parents come to town tomorrow!!! I am so uber-duber excited to see them. We spent Christmas in Oregon this year, so I haven’t seen my family since October so I’m definitely ready. It’s funny how I still feel like I have to “clean my room” so that Mom & Dad won’t be disappointed. But who I am kidding, they know how I really am. I’m a creative to a T, messy and all. With all those “great” ideas floating around, I don’t have time for mundane chores ;).
I hope I don’t offend too many people but I’m going to say it anyway. I’m glad that football is almost over!!! Joe is a diehard football fan. In fact, when we first started talking about him second shooting with me, he had one condition: “I won’t shoot any Sunday weddings/shoots during the football season”. Fair enough, I guess. It is a great time for him to hang with his “guys” but I’m ready to have my husband back! Although, it is fun to watch him get really excited when the Packers win. On the contrary, if they lose to the Bears next week he will be a sullen mess. So let’s hope they win! Oh and since I’m from Wisconsin, I think it’s illegal if I don’t route for them. So…Go Pack!
My dogs are afraid of my camera. Every time I try to take a picture of them, they run away lol. Let’s hope that my future children are not the same way or I’ll be a sad panda! I was able to snap a couple shots of my “girls” before they took off. Enjoy their cuteness and have a wonderful week! See you next Monday :)
Hope loves to show off her bones. And I had to keep the one of Faith on the right even though it’s blur city. Still a cute moment.
Awww she looks so dejected. Poor girl. She really doesn’t like having her picture taken.
There’s my “Hope the dope” with her trusty bone.
You definitely aren’t offending me by saying you are glad football season is almost over. I hit that point about two weeks ago!
