Okay everyone. Get ready, because your Mondays are about to become so much…AwesomER? AwesomeISH? Let’s just say whatever amount of awesome your Monday used to contain, consider it multiplied. And no, I’m not talking about the awesomeness that is Juan Pablo of The Bachelor. I am talking about Coffee Talk Mondays, people! I know many of you have spent countless nights dreaming and longing for the day I would bring CTM back (slight exaggeration perhaps?). Well, your dream has come true, my friend. For those of you who are thinking, “What the heck is Coffee Talk Monday?”. Well, it’s like a virtual coffee date with me. I share randomness of my life and you get to come along for the ride. So without further ado, here is your first CTM post of 2014. It feels good to be back!
I am discovering that the behavior of the “terrible twos” seem remarkably similar to that of a teenage girl. Bella turned two a little over a week ago, but I swear sometimes I am staring at her future teenage self. All of the sudden she is extra-super-sensitive (clear throat…like a teenage girl) and just about anything can bring her to tears. (*Note: I have nothing against teenage girls. In fact, I was one once and I was awesome!). Anyway, yesterday, her cry fest revolved around a Larabar. You know, those amazingly tasty all-natural fruit/nut bars. They are Bella’s favorite and we usually have some on hand at all times. But not yesterday (insert “don don don” sound effect). She asked me for one and I told her we didn’t have any. She asked again. I told her we didn’t have any. This scenario continued. Apparently my child thinks I’m a liar! So I decided I would let her look in the cabinet to see that there was in fact “No Larabars in the house” like I had been saying. Upon discovering that I was in fact telling the truth, that’s when the tears came. And not just tears. I’m talking “my whole world is over”, fall-to-the-floor, dramatic head motions kinda tears. Just because there was no Larabar in the house! But apparently she is not alone in this “cry over anything” behavior. I think she would get along with these kids quite well.
Ever have those dreams when you’re back in high school (or college) but you can’t remember your class schedule or can’t find your classroom or forgot to study for a test? Ehhh I have been totally having those lately! Or more recently I had a dream that I was at my old dance studio getting ready for competition but I didn’t know the routines because I hadn’t been to rehearsals. So weird. Any dream interpreters out there want to tell me what that’s all about??
I’m not much of a coffee person. That seems ironic considering the name I chose for this blog series, but that’s besides the point! Anyways, my parents LOVE coffee and recently introduced Joe and I to a brand of coffee that I can get down with: Bulletproof Upgraded Coffee. It’s delicious but super pricey. It has something to do with the beans being super pure, pesticide free, etc. Joe, being an engineer, likes things to be proven. He wanted to make sure that if we were paying that much more for coffee that it be that much better-tasting. So he insisted that I do a blind taste test with Bulletproof and another brand lol! We did three different rounds of taste tests. And the results? I was sick of BOTH coffees by the end LOL. I guess I am a tea girl after all.
And that my friends, is CTM. Happy Monday! Don’t forget, we have another coffee (or more likely, tea) date next week :).
leave some LOVE!
