Coffee Talk Monday :: Return to Rest

May 25, 2015

All I have to say is, thank goodness of the Bachelorette keeping me on track. If it wasn’t for that, I would have totally forgot it’s Monday! So, to everyone who thinks that show is good for nothing, today it provided you with this post. Now you have something good to say about it ;).

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. To all who have served, are currently serving or have loved ones who have served/are serving, thank you. I am so proud to live in a country of freedom, hope and bravery!

Today we celebrated with our small group with a BBQ/pool party full of sun, laughter and junk food. Is there anything better than sitting poolside with your girlfriends catching up on life? So, so good! Oh, and my day just kept getting better. After our early afternoon BBQ, Joe and I got to sneak away for a few hours (thanks to our great babysitter). We headed to our favorite Ahwatukee spot under the shade of “our tree”. No agenda. No plan. Just him and I enjoying each other’s company in the cool of the grass. The water feature lulled in the distance as we marveled at the humming bird that flew close by. He listened as I shared my dreams and he spoke affirmation to them. Nothing fancy, just simple, genuine quality time. And that my friends, is worth more than gold to this gal! I hope that your Memorial Day was lovely as well.

This month has been so, so busy for me as I have been trying to balance photography, motherhood, everyday life, holy yoga and the Beneath the Olive Tree ministry. With much to do, I am reminding myself how important rest is: for my heart, mind, soul and body. Thankful that today was restful and praying I continue to make it a priority. You should join me :).

Happy Monday, sweet friends!
