Okay, I confess: I am a perpetual dreamer. On any given day, I have at least 4 new dreams that I want to pursue. Some of which are seemingly achievable, others seemingly unrealistic. But they are dreams of mine, nonetheless. I think that there is power in sharing your dreams. By saying “I would like to achieve ________ someday”, you give your dream a voice. It’s that first step to believing that maybe, just maybe, that dream may come true someday. For me, that’s how this dream of photography all started.
One night while I was glued to my computer screen after hours of browsing photographers’ blogs I said to Joe, “I want to be a photographer someday.” In all honesty, I can’t say that I actually believed that I would become a professional photographer when I said it. But there it was. It was out on the table. My dream was no longer hidden in my heart. I now had a witness. And thankfully this witness turned into my biggest encourager. The person who gave me that extra push that I needed. The person who spoke the words that I so desperately needed to hear: I believe in you. What a powerful thing! To know that someone else believes in your dream. So I decided to start “Confessions of a Dreamer” for a couple reasons
1. To give a voice to my dreams
2. To encourage you to give your dreams a voice as well.
3. To be that person that tells you “I believe in you”.
So this is for all my fellow dreamers out there!
I wanted to share this quote that spoke so deeply to me. I feel like it was written about me. Photography was not something I ever would have thought of on my own. No doubt, the Lord placed this desire on my heart.
Awesome! Love this idea! For years growing up I was on the other side of the lens modeling. I never imagined being the one taking the pictures!
