The Pregnancy Files :: 27 Weeks

27 weeks (12/19/15)/Second Trimester/Clover Joy is the size of a rutabaga (15 in, 1.7-2.5 lbs)IMG_0357

So horseback riding may be out during pregnancy, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t feel like I’ve been riding one for 2 days straight! Yes, my most recent pregnancy symptom has been super sore inner thighs just like you get after riding a horse or spin bike. Apparently this is due to the loosening of my pelvic bone ligament so that little miss Clover will have an easier journey when it comes time to head out of her current womb abode. It’s a necessary thing, I suppose, but it sure does make normal things like switching sleep positions at night quite uncomfortable!

The bump is definitely growing each week and I and everyone around me can tell. I’m getting lots of “Wow, you’ve really popped!” comments as of late.

I’m still battling the heartburn on and off. Some nights its really mild while other times it keeps me up for some portion of the night. Even though it’s quite uncomfortable, I suppose it’s just preparing my body for the times I will be up in the middle of the night with little Miss Clover!

On to some good things: Clover’s movements are getting more and more frequent and I just don’t tire of them. Feeling her move and kick is magical. I find myself just staring at my belly and watching the little jabs and kicks from the outside. It blows my mind to think that God is knitting together this little human inside of me. Pregnancy is wild, crazy and miraculous!

I am looking forward to beginning childbirth classes and prenatal chiropractor visits in the new year to better prepare for labor and delivery. 3 short months until she’ll make her debut!
