I truly believe that every wedding is special and unique, and I am touched by each one I document. But every once in a while, a wedding comes along that I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. That is exactly how I felt at the wedding of Amy + Tyler.
Just days before the wedding, rain poured down from the Wisconsin summer skies. The morning of the 24th brought forth clouds and I couldn’t help wonder if their day would bring an unwelcome shower. But in fact it did not rain that day. Instead the clouds just remained in the sky, creating an unbelievable backdrop for this amazing couple.
Amy arrived at the Veteran’s Terrace looking more gorgeous than ever, and greeted Emily + I with hugs of excitement and appreciation. For 12 years, Amy had dreamed of marrying Tyler and her excitement could not be hidden. As she slipped into her dress, her giddiness grew as she knew it was only a matter of time before she would see Tyler as her groom for the first time.
As Emily + I headed down stairs, we were greeted by Tyler’s familiar, adorable smile. He cracked jokes as usual, while he finished getting ready. It wasn’t until he was standing there waiting to see Amy for the first time that his nerves showed through for just a moment. But as soon as he turned around and saw her face, his usual smile appeared, only this time it was bigger than ever before. “You look SO handsome!” Amy exclaimed to her groom as they admired one another. After some hugs, kisses and cheers, it was finally time to make things official! Their ceremony was traditional and beautiful. After their ceremony, we headed to the most perfect spot (by accident) for their romance shots. Amy was up for anything and I could not have been happier. Her response when I would ask her if she was okay with walking here or sitting there was usually “Let’s do it! I love it!”. Every once in while she would exclaim “this day is perfect!” or “I am so in love with you!”. Tyler kept us all laughing with his silly jokes and funny faces. I was just smitten over these two!
Spending time around Amy + Tyler was just so inspiring. Not only do they love each other deeply, they love those around them deeply. I can’t count the number of times Amy told me she appreciated me, felt blessed to be working with me or asked me if I needed anything. On a day that was all about her + Tyler, she still made sure she was thinking of others. And Tyler…wow, what a guy! The way he adores Amy just melts my heart. It is so refreshing to see a man who even after 12 years, still makes sure his Amy feels appreciated. He doesn’t take her for granted and I love that.
Amy+Tyler, I can’t properly express in words just how much I enjoyed being a part of your wedding day. You two are a one in a million couple and I am beyond blessed to not only know you, but call you friends. Thank you for being so amazing and may God bless your marriage! xoxo
these two were all smiles from start to finish
For 12 years they waited to see one another as ‘bride + groom’. Finally, the time had come.
they were pretty pumped to say the least!

My jaw dropped when I saw these things.
the sky was just killer that day.
I have wanted to do a shoot with an old pick up truck for SO long. And there it was. Just sitting there. Calling my name. And Amy+Tyler rocked it perfectly!
I just had to get a shot of this beauty along. Isn’t she just lovely?
But soon Tyler was doing what he does best; making people laugh.
I would have shot their ‘romance shots’ all night if I could, but then we would have missed out on the reception gorgeousness.
